With reference to your letter of the 4th ultimo, No.39924, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to inform you that information has since been
received from the Crown Agents for the Colonies that they have issued Colonial pay to Commander Basil R.H. Taylour
to the 22nd April last, and are crediting him with the excess
of Colonial over Naval rates as from the 23rd idem. In
these circumstances, and in accordance with arrangements
which have been made verbally with the Crown Agents, the sum
of £16. 5. 8, (representing Naval pay, £17. 12. 0, from 7th
to 22nd April, less Income Tax, £l. 6. 4), has been paid
over to their account in the Bank of England, and the
Officer will be paid on Ship's books from 23rd April.
